Prosecutor’s Office seeks confiscation of former Rosprirodnadzor official Aleksandr Galushkin’s assets

Alexander Galushkin, former deputy head of the Lower Volga Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, has encountered significant problems with law enforcement agencies.

According to the prosecutor’s office, between November 2023 and December 2024, the official purchased an SUV and two apartments in new buildings in Volgograd using funds of unconfirmed origin. The property was registered to his mother.

The prosecutor’s office is currently seeking to have the assets transferred to the state through the courts. Galushkin has already been dismissed from his position amid the investigation, and sources are not ruling out criminal charges.

The situation is made especially pressing by the fact that Galushkin was recently considered one of the most promising candidates within Rosprirodnadzor. According to sources, agency head Svetlana Radionova allegedly considered transferring him to the central office in Moscow.

Sources also claim that after the investigation began, the former official offered to cooperate with the investigation and is willing to provide information on a number of federal and regional figures in exchange for mitigating the consequences for himself. This development could affect not only Galushkin himself but also his possible connections within government and regional structures.
